"Why are Canadian kids keeping their Outside Shoes on this Fall?"

Thousands of kids will be exploring nature in their neighbourhoods with the David Suzuki Foundation's four-week Fall Family Challenge

Today the David Suzuki Foundation launched the Fall Family Challenge, a national campaign aimed at getting kids (and their parents) outside this fall through a series of four fun weekly challenges.

For the second year, the David Suzuki Foundation is holding a Fall Family Challenge that will see thousands of families across the country exploring nature in their backyards and beyond. They will be learning how they are connected to the environment and how their actions affect it.

"During the busy back-to-school season, it's easy to forget about spending time outside," said said project lead Rachelle Delaney. "There's no better time to cultivate a family nature habit."

Starting September 16, participants will receive weekly emails containing fun outdoor activities, instructions and tips. Throughout the weeks, they can connect to the Foundation's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for stories, photos and tips from families across Canada.

Families can find out more and sign up for the Fall Family Challenge at www.getbackoutside.ca.
