Treasurer: Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is looking for a keen and experienced individual to fill the role as Treasurer. Working with the Executive Director, the treasurer will be responsible for the financial oversight and accountability of NatureKids BC (NKBC). The time commitment is around 10 hours per month. Social Media Specialist
NatureKids BC has an opportunity for an ambitious and creative individual with a passion for writing and editing who's looking to build a career in communications. We are seeking a volunteer to join our organization as a social media specialist. You will report directly to the Executive Director and will create a social media strategy which you will help implement, which will help us establish a strong and effective social media presence for NatureKids BC. Web Manager
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic web professional who can help us launch our new WordPress website and, once launched, update it on a regular basis. You will work with us on creating new content on a weekly basis, trouble-shoot any issues and provide us with recommendations for how we can continue to improve our website for our target audiences. You also have experience with digital analytic tools and can help set us up so we are able to gather data in order to create better business and organizational outcomes. Office Support 
We are looking for friendly people to help us out at our North Vancouver office doing fun, hands-on tasks such as:
  • Assembling kids’ welcome packages
  • Mailing of packages & letters to families
  • Creating buttons for kids
  • Various other fun tactile tasks!
5-10 hours a month is all it takes to really make a difference. Volunteering takes place at the office in North Vancouver at the base of Seymour Mountain.  Register here.

Accounting Coordinator

We are looking for a volunteer accounting coordinator to help us perform basic functions of accounting and reporting, including:

  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Preparing cheques (twice monthly)
  • Monthly reconciliation
  • Payroll allocation (payroll service is used)
  • Generate reports for NatureKids BC treasurer
  • Help prepare documentation for year end financial review

Grant Writer

We have an opportunity for an ambitious and creative fundraiser with a passion for researching grant opportunities and writing applications who's looking to build a career in fundraising. You will report directly to the Executive Director and through your compelling proposal writing, you will play a critical role in helping to raise funds for our programs by inviting prospective funders to help deliver our mission. Read more about this opportunity at govolunteer.ca.

Outreach Ambassadors
NatureKids brings nature to numerous public events throughout in the form of a touch table with various natural objects, nature crafts/activities. We're looking for volunteers to help at those events and those marketing/communications geniuses to help us freshen our display/messaging! Register Here.

Nature Club Co-Leaders 
As a co-leader of a local nature club your primary responsibility will be to organize hands-on outdoor field trips- called Explorer Days for NatureKids members and their families. NatureKids operates nature clubs for children and their families in many communities and schools around BC. All our club leaders are volunteers - if you are organized, interested in the environment and can help organize monthly explorer days this opportunity may be for you! Nature Mentors  
As a nature mentor you will share your expertise, skills and knowledge about the natural world with young naturalists in your community on Explorer Day field trips. We are seeking nature mentors to lead 1- 2 outdoor, hands-on field trips per year for young naturalists in towns and cities across BC. To see if there is a nature club near you click here.
