Rockhounding!
Udo Matern President of the Nelson Rock Club is going to do a presentation on Rockhounding (Amateur Geology). Udo began Rockhounding as a toddler, when his parents brought him along on rock & mineral field trips. His interest in mining history started by visiting many old mine sites to collect mineral specimens.

Please bring a rock sample you would like to have identified.

Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup! and City of Nelson Garbage Truck Tour

With the beginning of the school year, it is once again the annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. We will be returning to the mouth of Cottonwood Creek to see what debris has accumulated since last Fall. Collect, count and categorize the debris. We will send our data to be included with all other cleanup efforts across Canada.
